WINEMAKING
Cold soaked prior to inoculation, the 2000 vintage is 100% Sangiacomo vineyard, fermented in traditional open-topped fermenters and punched down 3 times daily. It was aged in 10% new French oak for a total of 23 months.


VINEYARD SOURCES
We select our fruit specifically from the Novillero block of the Donnell vineyard located on the Sonoma Valley floor in Carneros Appellation and farmed by the renowned Sangiacomo family. This location receives full sun exposure throughout the growing season and results in deeply colored, full flavored Merlot.

DESCRIPTION
The medium-ruby colored 2000 Sangiacomo Merlot displays aromas of juicy strawberry and fresh herbs, which follow through on the medium bodied, gently structured palate. A fine, soft red for near-term drinking, and should make a great dinner companion over the next 1 to 3 years.
