2001 TANTALUS SYRAH
HARWOOD VINEYARD

SOLD OUT!

WINEMAKING
This 100% Harwood vineyard clone 1 Syrah was fermented in open top stainless steel tanks, and punched down three times daily until completion. The wine was then aged in 30% new French oak for 23 months before bottling.

VINEYARD SOURCES
The Harwood vineyard is small (three acres) and cropped to low production and high quality. The Syrah is thinned to 3 tons per acre.

DESCRIPTION
2001 Harwood Syrah is intensely colored with an almost saturated purple hue. Complex aromas of blueberry, red plum and gamey leather are laced with vanilla and spice. On the palate the wine is quite rich, with moderate tannins and balancing acidity, along with berry, earth and spice flavors that linger over a long, smooth finish.
